Cobham Sailor 500 FleetBroadband is the most powerful satellite terminal in this series. All qualities of this terminal correspond to professional sailors and coastal services. The terminal allows simultaneous access in real-time to full-fledged weather maps, data transmission, access to the internet at speeds of up to 432 kbps or up to 256 kbps on a guaranteed channel, SMS, fax messages, remote work with a corporate network via VPN protocol, and of course, high-quality voice communication.
Despite its power and capabilities, the terminal is compact and easy to install and operate. The terminal dimensions are: 264.5 x 273 x 42.5 mm, 2.5 kg; antennas: 797.5 x Ø 687 mm, 23 kg. The Inmarsat Marine Satellite Terminal Thrane & Thrane FTT-3740A FleetBroadband Sailor 500 can be easily integrated into the local onboard network of the vessel, and parameter settings are made through a web interface or a wired IP phone. The terminal supports up to 16 IP phones from Thrane & Thrane, each of which is assigned its own internal number. Four Ethernet ports RJ-45 can be used to increase the telecommunications system on the vessel or connect additional devices, wireless access points, personal computers, network concentrators, faxes, etc. Two analog ports RJ-11 allow connecting any standard phone device, fax, or any other device.
The basic receiving and transmitting unit of the terminal Thrane & Thrane (Cobham) TT-3740A FleetBroadband Sailor 500 is also available in a 1U form factor for installation in a 19-inch rack and has an additional front power switch.
