Currently, cellular networks cover only about 10% of the Earth's surface. The percentage of coverage in the maritime segment is even lower.

On business trips, travels, sea voyages, in extreme conditions... it's easier to list where you don't need a satellite phone. Satellite communication can be used anywhere on the planet, and even polar zones are covered by signal (only with Iridium operator). The only condition for getting clear and stable communication is that the phone antenna must "see the sky". In some places, the device will work near an office window, or you can use an external antenna.
