Thuraya has released the world's first satellite smartphone based on Android. In addition to standard functions of any Android smartphone, the model naturally supports Thuraya satellite communication format and has a slot for any regular GSM SIM card. This allows using Thuraya X5 Touch as the only communication device during a trip or travel, especially if during use you will be in places with and without cellular coverage. Satellite communication can be used in parallel with a GSM SIM card.
