Currently, satellite communication is the most secure and reliable type of communication among available options.
To understand the advantages of satellite communication, we need to say a few words about how it works using Iridium as an example (other satellite systems function on the same principle):
Iridium operates on 66 low-orbiting satellites that constantly rotate around the Earth. When making a call from a satellite phone to a mobile/landline phone, the signal is directed through the nearest satellite to a ground gateway station, from where it is directed through ground networks to the subscriber.
When calling from one satellite phone to another satellite phone, the signal does not touch the ground and is directed directly to the subscriber through satellites.
It is precisely when the signal passes through a ground gateway station that it is most vulnerable to hacking/tracking. There are 10 such stations worldwide. The closest one to Ukraine is located in Moscow, which negatively affects communication security due to recent events.
To enhance communication security, we connect our subscribers only to ground gateway stations in the USA (or England when choosing Inmarsat). Accordingly, prices for our equipment and tariffs may be 5-10% higher than the market average in some cases. Also, to connect to any operator, we do not collect any personal data from the subscriber.
