Iridium 9575 Extreme PTT — version of the flagship Iridium 9575 with satellite radio function (PTT = Push To Talk).
Three main differences from the regular 9575 version:
1) Communication security is ensured by AES 256 encryption (the most secure currently available);
2) Ability to use two modes: phone or PTT, switching between modes happens quite quickly, within 10-15 seconds;
3) Increased autonomy, in phone mode: up to 54 hours standby and up to 6.5 hours talk time; in PTT mode up to 16.5 hours standby and up to 5 hours talk time;
The PTT mode itself is a full-fledged satellite radio function. The user is provided with a personal account where active devices are distributed into groups and usage zones (subscription cost depends on the number of devices and the size of the required zone. There is no charge for airtime minutes.
In PTT mode, communication delay is 1-2 seconds, making this function indispensable if constant use is expected. In PTT mode, the phone can be used without a SIM card. If you need to make regular calls — a regular Iridium SIM card with standard Iridium rates is required.
Although Iridium 9575 Push To Talk is positioned as a solution for rescue services, military and special services, experience shows that it is also a good solution for various commercial enterprises and even for private use for communication security purposes.
